Ramsey Theory and Topological Dynamics
Manuel Bodirsky, École Polytechnique

In 2003, Kechris, Pestov, and Todorcevic discovered a surprising link between Ramsey theory and topological dynamics. They used this link to translate deep statements from structural Ramsey theory to construct new and interesting "extremely amenable" topological groups. In this talk, we reverse the direction in which we use this link, and show how topological dynamics can help to obtain a more systematic understanding of the question which classes of combinatorial structures have the Ramsey property.
